Entry requirements:
A valid passport and roundtrip or onward airline tickets are required for all foreigners entering Seychelles. No visas are required. Immigration officials will grant you entry for one month. Extensions to this may be given by immigration at an additional fee of 200SR for up to three months.

Departure tax:
The current departure tax is US$40 per person. This fee is only applicable to persons over the age of 12.

Please note that only foreign currency is acceptable in the Seychelles Airport Departure Lounge; i.e. no Seychelles Rupees.

Health requirements:
The Seychelles are currently free from any tropical diseases and therefore no vaccinations are required. Check with your local doctor prior to departing for the latest requirements.

Seychelles money:
Travelers' checks and major credit cards are honored at all major hotels, larger shops and restaurants. The Seychelles Rupee is divided into 100 cents . There are coins in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25 cents, and 1 and 5 rupees. Notes are in 10, 25, 50 and 100 denominations.

Exchange rates are published regularly in the local paper . There is a bureau de change at the airport , which is open when there are incoming and out going flights . Better exchange rates are given for travellers cheques than for cash. Banks are open from 8.30 am until around 2pm , and from 8.30 until 11am on Saturdays, You should check each bank for exact opening and closing times.

Language:
English, French and an island patois known as Creole.

Inter Island travel:
From Mahe you can travel to the outer islands by plane, although many have no overnight accommodations. Consequently, liveaboards are the best way to see them. A rental car is a must in order to see Mahe topside. At least 25 daily flights between Mahé and Praslin for a 15 minute flight. Several daily scheduled ferry trips between Mahé and Praslin and Praslin and La Digue.

What to wear/bring:
Pack light clothing only. Take great care to protect yourself against the tropical sun: wear sun cream, sunglasses and a hat. Most restaurants and hotels require that long trousers are worn during the evening. Dresscode on the MV Illusions is casual. Bring shoes that can get wet for island visits. Bath towels are provided, but bring your own beach towel.
