Aldabra is the world's largest atoll and
has been dubbed the Galapagos of the Indian Ocean. It is home to
150,000 giant land tortoises and is known as a turtle haven with
nesting beaches. Aldabra is also home to three endemic birds and the
last remaining flightless bird of the Indian Ocean, the white-throated
rail.
