With MV Illusions,
space is the operative word on this very comfortable catamaran.
Designed by Cape Town naval architects, the vessel was launched in 1996 in
Richardsbay South Africa. In Tanzania she undertook regular charters to Mafia Island,
Zanzibar and Pemba where some
of the worlds best dive sites were explored. After a short stint in Kenyan waters and yet
more exciting diving, the MV Illusions steamed to paradise: the islands of Seychelles,
where she arrived in April 2001.

Owners:
The motor vessel Illusions is owned by Chris and Desiré Welgemoed of Illusions
Liveaboards (Proprietary) Ltd.
The Crew:
Chris and Desiré take responsibility for the smooth running of the boat and water
activities. They are both qualified skippers with a class VI ticket from the SA Dept of
Transport. Chris is a NAUI and SSI dive instructor and Desire’ is a master diver.
Chris leads most of the dives. The cook, dishes up local and
European style cuisine. The crew is complemented by the deckhand keeping all clean
and comfortable.
